We Help Kids Who Struggle With Oppositional Defiant Disorder

The Brain Balance Program in Charlotte Can Help Improve The Lives of Children With Oppositional Defiant Disorder

Helping Children Reach Their Goals in Charlotte

The Brain Balance Achievement Center of Charlotte helps children meet their social, behavioral, and academic goals through the Brain Balance Program. Because we are dedicated to helping children in Charlotte reach their goals, our center provides children with a personalized assessment when they are first enrolled in The Brain Balance Program. This assessment helps us to identify each child’s unique strengths and challenges as well as helps us to develop an individualized plan that will help them overcome their struggles.

In creating each child’s individualized plan, we include academic activities, sensory-motor training, and dietary guidelines. We believe that these activities are valuable in developing an integrated, whole-child approach to Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) and other behavioral challenges.

Overcome Behavior Challenges With Brain Balance

Oppositional Defiant Disorder is a behavioral disorder in children characterized by a significant level of negative, disobedient, and defiant behavior. A child with Oppositional Defiant Disorder may display signs of anxiety, have frequent and severe tantrums, be manipulative, and/or be repetitively defiant towards those in authority. Often these children are labeled by teachers, peers, and parents as disruptive, frustrating, mean, etc. Most signs of Oppositional Defiant Disorder become apparent by the age of eight.

When it comes to children with Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Brain Balance has a plan that can help your child achieve their goals and find success. When your child is enrolled in The Brain Balance Program, we’ll create an individualized plan for them that will address their strengths and weaknesses. By doing this for each child, we create a customized program that addresses any deficits in functions or skills your child may have. Each program has two distinct parts — scheduled activities at the center, where your child will visit us three times a week, and at-home activities that are equally important for your child to complete. These sessions along with a healthy eating plan allow our program to address the whole child and set them up for positive changes throughout their time with us.
