Brain Balance Achievement Center of Jacksonville work to help children with learning disorders, a group of disorders that inhibit the brain from receiving, processing, storing, and responding to and communicating information. As many as 1 in 5 people in the U.S. have a learning disorders, which can cause difficulties in the classroom, trouble developing interpersonal relationships, and can lead to low self-esteem.
The Brain Balance Program can help with common childhood learning disorders such as Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, and Dysgraphia. Dyslexia can cause children to have trouble reading, recognizing letters, learning letter sounds, and identifying rhyming words. These children often have trouble learning to spell and write once they are in school. The learning disorder Dyspraxia is characterized by having a difficulty in carrying out routine tasks involving balance, fine-motor control, and kinesthetic coordination. Dyscalculia often causes children to have problems understanding learning fundamentals including basic numerical skills. One sign of this type of learning disorder is challenges with basic addition and subtraction problems. Dysgraphia affects a child’s fine-motor skills and is characterized by distorted and incorrect handwriting. Through our drug-free and integrated approach, the Brain Balance Program can help children overcome the challenges associated with these learning disorders and achieve their goals in the classroom.
