We Help Kids Who Struggle With Learning Disorders

Brain Balance Achievement Center of Norwalk Has a Plan for Children with Learning Disorders

What are Learning Disorders?

The Brain Balance Program in Norwalk helps children with learning and developmental issues through an integrated, whole-child approach. Learning disorders are a group of disorders that hinder the brain from receiving, processing, storing, and communicating information. At Brain Balance Achievement Center of Norwalk, we can help children with learning disorders through an integrated, drug-free approach.

Learning disorders affect 1 in 5 people across the United States, and they can cause an individual to have trouble learning and using certain skills. These disorders affect a child’s academic performance as well as foster low self-esteem and difficulty developing interpersonal relationships. Common learning disorders include Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, and Dyspraxia that the Brain Balance Program can help.

Reading, recognizing letters, learning letter sounds, and identifying rhyming words are challenging for children with dyslexia. These children often have trouble learning to spell and write once they are in school. Another learning disorder is Dysgraphia. Dysgraphia affects a child’s fine-motor skills, and it appears in distorted, incorrect handwriting. The next type of learning disorder is Dyscalculia. Children with Dyscalculia often have problems learning numerical skills. A sign of this learning disorder in children is noticing that the child has trouble with basic addition and subtraction problems. Finally, Dyspraxia is a condition characterized by challenges in carrying out routine tasks that involve balance, fine-motor control, and kinesthetic coordination.

The Brain Balance Program and Learning Disorders

Brain Balance Achievement Center of Norwalk can help children with learning disorders find success in the classroom and at home. The Brain Balance Program begins with a personal assessment to help evaluate your child’s learning strengths and weaknesses. The assessment provides our center with invaluable information about your child’s current physical, verbal, and comprehension skills. Based on your child’s individual assessment, the Brain Balance Achievement Center of Norwalk will construct a comprehensive, personal plan that addresses your child’s challenges.

The Brain Balance program works to help children with learning disorders in Norwalk by combining customized sensory motor and academic activities that work to help improve left-brain connectivity, which leads to increased processing and learning skills. These activities, combined with a nutritional program and at-home activities , can help your child reach their physical, social, and academic potential.
